Hamdan bin Zayed inspects AED5.3bn Al Mafraq-Al Ghweifat highway project

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, inspected the progress of the AED5.3 billion Al Mafraq-Al
Ghweifat highway project, whose first phase was completed in 2016.
Sheikh Hamdan stressed the interest of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in the development of the Western Region to ensure the welfare of its citizens.
He underlined the need to double the efforts during the next period to complement various development projects. These include providing better accommodation, health services, education, roads and transport, as well as stepping up activities of departments and agencies to implement ambitious plans in this respect.
Sheikh Hamdan made these remarks while inspecting the project being implemented by the Abu Dhabi General Services Company, Musanada. He was briefed on the project’s first phase, which was completed in 2016, while the remaining phases will be completed by mid-2017.
He was accompanied by HH Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Nahyan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Mohammed Hamad bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Ruler Representative in Western Region’s Court; Sultan bin Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Director of Office of Ruler Representative in Western Region; Eisa Hamad Bu Shahab, Adviser at the Emirates Red Crescent and Ateeq Khamis Al Mazrouei, Acting Director of the Western Region Municipality.
