Dubai / WAM
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), visited the foundation’s headquarters, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
During the visit, they viewed some of the foundation’s top initiatives, greenlighting 25 projects submitted under the Dubai 10X Programme, which were shortlisted from a total of 163 entries by a panel of private-sector experts.
Also present were Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Managing Director of DFF, accompanied by DFF’s Acting CEO, Abdullah bin Touq, and the Dubai 10X team at the foundation.
The Dubai 10X Programme, launched by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at the World Government Summit back in February, ushers in a new era of government work, where officials prioritise the community and people’s happiness, and establish future forecasting as a central component of government activities.
The Dubai Future Foundation is working with other government entities to embrace ‘disruptive’ innovation as a fundamental mantra of their operations and to seek ways to incorporate its methodologies in all aspects of their work and place Dubai 10 years ahead of other cities.
The first requirement for the participating entities was to create independent X-Units whose mandate is finding ways to disrupt their own organisation’s practices and develop their own ‘moonshot solutions’. The second requirement is to trial and scale radically disruptive organisational structures, systems and technologies, and thirdly, to partner with and facilitate disruptive solutions and remove regulatory
obstacles.
