DUBAI / WAM

The UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) on Sunday inaugurated an office in Dubai as part of its efforts to extend its services to organisations and companies that use nuclear- and radiation-related technologies in the UAE.
The facility opened in Dubai Cargo Village, where the office will be open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to assist FANR licensees and applicants with applications, import-export permits, fee collection and other licensing activities.
FANR’s Dubai office will provide services to licensees and applicants in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. It will also be used as hub for FANR officials conducting other business, such as inspections to verify
compliance with safety and security
regulations. A ceremony to mark to the
office’s opening was attended by FANR
Director General Christer Viktorsson and Abdullah bin Khediya, Head of Cargo
Services.
The opening reflects FANR’s commitment to the UAE Government’s initiative to ensure customer happiness and satisfaction. FANR is working to create multiple paths for entities to receive their FANR
license services as conveniently and
efficiently as possible.
FANR recently launched its e-licensing services which will enable licensees to attain many FANR services on-line.

“FANR is eager to offer the best possible service to our customers, so we’re very grateful to Dubai Cargo Village for making these offices available to us,” Viktorsson siad. “This represents the excellent cooperation we strive to achieve with our government stakeholders.”
