The Emirates Securities Market Index has increased by 0.12% to close at 4636.94 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has gained AED 0.92 billion attaining AED 752.17 billion. A total of 486.95 Million Shares were traded with a total value of AED 0.58 billion during the trading session of 17-04-2016 through 6161 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 63 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 17 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 38 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Emaar Properties came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 79.12 million distributed over 11.77 Million Shares through 408 transactions. DANA Gas came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 56.12 million distributed over 94.52 Million Shares through 464 transactions.
Invest Bank shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED 2.15 with 13.16% increase during the trading of 1.06 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 2.27 million. Whereas National Marine Dredging Co shares Increased by 12.86% to close at AED 5.88 during the trading of 8228 Shares with a trade value of AED 43.7 Thousand.
National General Insurance has achieved the lowest decline by -10.00% to close at AED 2.97 during the trading of 103 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 305.97 Thousand. Followed by Abu Dhabi Ships Building which dropped by -6.90% to close at AED 2.70 during the trading of 32.29 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 93.82 Thousand.
Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has an increase by 8.344%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED 67.25 billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 67 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 39 companies. As of 17-04-2016, the Energy sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 20.0172% to settle at 85.4779compared to 71.2214 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with an increase of 17.6% to settle at 4198.37 points. Followed by the Telecommunication sector index with an increase of 17.5% to settle at 3765.89 points. Followed by the Real estate sector index with an increase of 16.4% to settle at 5635.49 points. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with an increase of 11.0% to settle at 2130.10 points. Followed by the Services sector index with an increase of 6.03% to settle at 1473.00 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with an increase of 0.69% to settle at 2900.75 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with an increase of 0.67% to settle at 3355.33 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -3.0% to settle at 1233.69 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -4.2% to settle at 930.993 points.
