The Emirates Securities Market Index has increased by 0.24% to close at 4574.07 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has gained AED 1.75 billion attaining AED 741.97billion. A total of 0.94 Billion Shares were traded with a total value of AED 1.15 billion during the trading session of 08-03-2016 through 11363 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 70 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 37 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 19 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Arabtec Holding Company came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 218.02 million distributed over 126.86 Million Shares through 1453 transactions. Union Properties came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AEDE 96.88 million distributed over 103.16 Million Shares through 1318 transactions.
Methaq shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED 0.88 with 14.29% increase during the trading of 40.25 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 34.18 million. Whereas Union National Bank shares Increased by 11.69% to close at AED 4.30 during the trading of 3.68 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 15.09 million.
AXA Green Crescent Insurance Company has achieved the lowest decline by -9.90% to close at AED 0.91 during the trading of 37.7 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 34.31 Thousand. Followed by Mashreq Bank which dropped by -4.88% to close at AED 78.00 during the trading of 2350 Shares with a trade value of AED 183.3 Thousand .
Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has an increase by 6.875%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED 41.96 billion . The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 58 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 40 companies. As of 08-03-2016, the Telecommunication sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 17.7214% to settle at 3772.16compared to 3204.32 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with an increase of 9.49% to settle at 3906.62 points. Followed by the Real estate sector index with an increase of 8.72% to settle at 5263.04 points. Followed by the Energy sector index with an increase of 7.29% to settle at 76.4196 points. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with an increase of 3.82% to settle at 1991.99 points. Followed by the Services sector index with an increase of 2.29% to settle at 1421.03 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with an increase of 1.62% to settle at 2927.42 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with an increase of 1.59% to settle at 3385.74 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -0.6% to settle at 965.807 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -4.7% to settle at 1212.43 points.
