The Emirates Securities Market Index has increased by 0.92% to close at 4161.49 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has gained AED6.16 Billion attaining AED675.05 Billion. A total of 0.64 Billion Shares were traded with a total value of 0.75 Billion AED during the trading session of 16-02-2016 through 8512 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 63 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 34 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 18 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Emaar Properties came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED95.7 Million distributed over 17.02 Million Shares through 635 transactions. Gulf Finance House came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED85.66 Million distributed over 146.48 Million Shares through 1035 transactions.
AXA Green Crescent Insurance Company shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED0.98 with 7.69% increase during the trading of 1000 Shares with a trade value of AED980. Whereas Deyaar Development shares Increased by 4.95% to close at AED0.51 during the trading of 59.16 Million Shares with a trade value of AED29.85 Million.
Al Salam Bank – Sudan has achieved the lowest decline by -8.82% to close at AED1.55 during the trading of 45 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED69.81 Thousand. Followed by Arkan Building Material which dropped by -5.43% to close at AED0.87 during the trading of 3000 Shares with a trade value of AED2610. Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has a decrease by -2.76%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED21.23 Billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 28 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 64 companies.
As of today the Telecommunication sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 2.3517% to settle at 3279.67compared to 3204.32 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with a decrease of -0.9% to settle at 1900.85 points. Followed by the Real estate sector index with a decrease of -2.4% to settle at 4723.20 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -3.7% to settle at 1225.12 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -3.7% to settle at 935.326 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with a decrease of -4.6% to settle at 2747.10 points. Followed by the Services sector index with a decrease of -5.7% to settle at 1309.05 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with a decrease of -6.0% to settle at 3131.79 points. Followed by the Energy sector index with a decrease of -9.9% to settle at 64.1341 points. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with a decrease of -10.% to settle at 3209.32 points.
