The Emirates Securities Market Index has decreased by -1.05% to close at 4528.92 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has lost AED 7.76 billion attaining AED 734.65 billion. A total of 399.22 Million Shares were traded with a total value of AED 0.63 billion during the trading session of 02-05-2016 through 6588 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 60 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 11 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 39 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Emaar Properties came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 96.8 million distributed over 14.73 Million Shares through 588 transactions. Arabtec Holding Company came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 80.06 million distributed over 51.5 Million Shares through 831 transactions.
Mashreq Bank shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED 78.00 with 4.00% increase during the trading of 203 Shares with a trade value of AED 15.83 thousand. Whereas Abu Dhabi National Building – BILDCO shares Increased by 2.17% to close at AED 0.47 during the trading of 65 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 30.55 thousand.
International Fish Farming Company has achieved the lowest decline by -9.91% to close at AED 6.82 during the trading of 26.7 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 182.09 thousand. Followed by Al Salam Group Holding which dropped by -8.60% to close at AED 0.43 during the trading of 160.66 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 71.04 thousand. Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has an increase by 5.820%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED 76.16 billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 59 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 48 companies.
As of 02-05-2016, the Telecommunication sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 18.3091% to settle at 3791.00compared to 3204.32 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Energy sector index with an increase of 16.6% to settle at 83.0983 points. Followed by the Real estate sector index with an increase of 10.4% to settle at 5348.36 points. Followed by the Services sector index with an increase of 8.71% to settle at 1510.32 points. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with an increase of 7.54% to settle at 3836.88 points. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with an increase of 6.47% to settle at 2042.79 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with an increase of 0.91% to settle at 3363.22 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with a decrease of -2.1% to settle at 2819.88 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -2.7% to settle at 945.081 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -3.3% to settle at 1229.71 points.
