Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is planning on establishing a medical excellence award to promote best medical practices and standards in Dubai, revealed, Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of DHA on Sunday.
Al Qatami made the statement at Latifa Hospital during a workshop by the Dubai Government Excellence Programme that discussed the new requirements of the fourth generation of the government excellence system, launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum last March.
The fourth generation of the government excellence system, is the latest government excellence award, which will have 24 categories that include the happiest work environment, best smart government services and best plan to implement the 2020 vision to name a few.
Al Qatami revealed that DHA will establish a committee that will focus on meeting the requirements of the first of its kind system, which focuses on results and is designed to upgrade government performance efficiency.
“The new system focuses on results. To achieve the desired outcomes we should have a planned process, for this reason we will establish a committee that will focus on meeting the requirements of the fourth generation of the government
excellence system,†he said.
Al Qatami also revealed that the authority plans to establish an award in the near future that aims to encourage all bodies in Dubai’s medical sector to elevate their medical offerings hence providing better services to patients.
Dr Ahmad Al Nusairat, the Coordinator-General for Dubai Government Excellence Programme said the fourth generation of the government excellence system aims to upgrade the system of government work in three main areas: achievement of the vision, innovation and empowerment to attain the highest satisfaction rates and people’s satisfaction. “We have started the implementation process of the system as per Sheikh Mohammad’s directives. We commend DHA’s fast response to the system and strive to meet government excellence.â€
