DEWA, Dell discuss digital tech ties

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and a delegation from Dell technologies headed by Michael Dell, CEO and founder of the US-based tech giant, have met to discuss ways of enhancing mutual cooperation and exchange expertise and international practices seen as the best in smart networks, information security, big data, Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Dell delegation showed interest in contributing to DEWA’s projects and initiatives to promote sustainable development in Dubai and the wider UAE. The delegation also highlighted the company’s latest solutions, technologies, and developments of the research and development that the company is implementing.
Al Tayer emphasised that DEWA keeps up with the latest developments of the fourth industrial revolution to enhance its leadership in disruptive technologies in the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity and water by adopting new initiatives, strategies, and technologies. The meeting was attended by Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, and Marwan bin Haider, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA.
