The Sharjah Housing Directorate declared that it presented 38 people housing loans worth AED24.7 million from the Sharjah Ruler’s programme for honouring government employees.
The directorate revealed that the previous deductions were returned to 19 beneficiaries from the residential support loans category amounting to AED671,000 from February with retrospective effect.
Abdulaziz Shohail, Head of Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the directorate, thanked H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the programme, which has led to the increase of practical privileges for government employees and contributed to their happiness. It has also improved their functional and family stability, as well as their living standards, and increased their productivity and national loyalty, he said.
He added that the directorate is implementing the directives of the Sharjah Ruler to return their settled loan amounts, in co-ordination with the Human Resources Directorate and the Central Financial Directorate, as well as several other directorates that are involved in the programme. He stressed that the Sharjah government will cover the settlement of housing loans within the framework of its housing support resolutions for government employees to the funding bank, as long as the employee is currently working for the Sharjah government.
He revealed that the directorate uses an advanced electronic programme to register housing information, which uses a points system that identifies housing support priorities according to the cumulative rate of points. He added that the directorate added a mechanism to facilitate grants for government employee housing loans. This is done by doubling accrued points according to years of service from two to four points per year, in accordance with the directives of the Sharjah Executive Council.
