Al Ihsan Charity Association (ACA), has spent AED53.6 million in humanitarian, charitable, social, educational and health assistance in the first nine months of the year.
Dr Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi, CEO of ACA, said financial assistance was offered to widows, divorcees, abandoned wives, wives of prisoners, surgeries, medicines, rental arrears and school fees.
“Humanitarian financial assistance amounting to AED14.9 million was disbursed to 5,000 underprivileged families in the emirates of Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, while AED30.7 million was spent on the Ramadan rationing programme and AED1.5 million on medical assistance,†he added.
The Ajman-based Al Ihsan Charity Association supports more than 6,000 needy families and sponsors more than 1,000 orphans.
