Curtin University Dubai launched its first Women of Wisdom forum at Capital Club in Dubai International Financial Centre. The forum, inspired by women for women, allows for an exchange of ideas and discussion on industry best-practice, and will build a community of strong female leaders.
The forum featured a panel discussion titled ‘Flexible Careers and Critical Success Behaviours’, with leading female panelists from the UAE, including Karen Brady, Global Recruiter at Laptop Lifestyles; Salma Al Mansoori, Public Relations Manager at Al Ain City Municipality; Ildiko Zavodny, HR Manager for Middle East and Africa at Dyson; Leanne Hucker, entrepreneur and hotelier; and Moiza Saeed, VP Global Growth at Zomato and Business Head at Zomato Gold.
During the forum, Curtin University Dubai also announced the prestigious ‘Curtin Dubai Excellence Award for Women’ that will reward prospective postgraduate students for excelling in their undergraduate studies or for having made significant contributions to society. As part of the commitment, the University will award one full and eight partial postgraduate scholarships to deserving candidates every year.
The first Women of Wisdom forum was chaired by Curtin University Dubai’s Academic Director and industry expert, Dr. Madhavi Ayyagari, who commented on the success of the event saying, “We are keen to connect women at different stages of their careers, from recent graduates to executives and entrepreneurs, through the Women of Wisdom forum.â€
