His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received, in Qasr Al Bahr, Jawaher Saif Al Kumaiti, to honour her humanitarian actions and her bravery, heroism and quick thinking, which saved the life of an Asian driver.
The driver was involved in an accident that resulted in his truck and clothes catching fire, but Al Kumaiti acted quickly to save his life, by using her friend’s ‘abaya’ (cloak) to put out the fire.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed praised the heroic stance of Al Kumaiti while expressing his appreciation and pride for her spontaneous humanitarian act. He added that this act is not unusual for the children of Zayed the Giving, who were raised and educated by the teachings of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose legacy is being followed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Al Kumaiti explained that her actions could be considered a first-class humanitarian act, as she was raised on love and giving and a belief in rescuing those in need, through the ideology of the country and the wise leadership.
She expressed her appreciation to Sheikh Mohamed and his generous gesture to receive her, confirming the desire of the UAE’s leaders to support and encourage the country’s citizens, to love, give and rescue those in need, in any place and under any circumstances.
