His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, welcomed on Sunday Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Nazarbayev is currently on an official visit to the UAE.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held talks with the Kazakh President after the welcoming ceremony. They discussed friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and ways of strengthening cooperation ties to achieve the mutual interests. Sheikh Mohamed and Nazarbayev also tackled the regional international and regional issues of mutual concern.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed affirmed that the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has built a strong network of relations with other countries, citing the distinguished ties with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh President offered his condolences to the UAE leadership, people and families of UAE martyrs in Afghanistan who lost their lives while on a humanitarian mission in Afghanistan. He stressed the strong ties between the two countries in many fields, and praised the development achieved by the UAE.
They also exchanged views on the latest developments on regional and international fronts, in addition to discussing several issues of mutual concern.
Both parties stressed their willingness to develop the ties of friendship and cooperation in the economic and investment fields, and their intentions to increase trade exchanges and investment opportunities.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held a luncheon in honour of President Nazarbayev and his accompanying delegation.
Among others present were Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC , HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with several sheikhs, ministers, and civil and military officials.
While on the Kazakh side, the meeting and luncheon were
attended by Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Foreign Minister, Askar Mamin, First Deputy Prime Minister, a number of Kazakh ministers, Khairat
Lama Sharif, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE, and a number of senior officials.
