Gabriela Michetti, the former Vice President of Argentina, emphasised the importance of the World Congress on Rehabilitation (WCR) 2024 in supporting People of Determination. Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of WCR, Gabriela added that cooperation and joint work through such events are a source of strength, unity, and success, making these conferences highly significant.
She stated that determination is the key to success in the lives of all people, not just those with disabilities, emphasising the need for determination to be a part of life in general. Through determination, individuals can be happy and capable of developing their abilities and talents.
She added, “We are all unique individuals, and each person has abilities that differ from others. It is important to utilise these abilities in our lives. It is determination.”
The WCR 2024 in Abu Dhabi under the theme “Work and Employment,” addressed global challenges faced by People of Determination in the job market and promotes awareness of their rights and capabilities.
Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), the congress is taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
Organised by ZHO in partnership with RI Global and the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the congress is the first of its kind in the Middle East and is attracting over 500 participants from more than 70 countries. Attendees include leading experts, academics, and researchers in rehabilitation and healthcare.
