UAE President, Prime Minister of Spain discuss regional developments, efforts to achieve peace in phone call

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today received a phone call from His Excellency Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, during which they discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop cooperation between the UAE and Spain in various fields in order to achieve their mutual interests.
The call touched upon regional and international developments of common interest, most notably developments in the Middle East and the risk of escalation, which threatens regional security and stability. They stressed the urgent need for calm and an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to end the suffering of its residents and curtail the worsening humanitarian crisis.
The two sides underscored the need for urgent international action to advance towards a political horizon for a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
In this context, the Prime Minister of Spain affirmed his country’s support for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations.
The Spanish Prime Minister praised efforts by the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to promote peace, security, and stability in the region and worldwide.
