Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sandooq Al Watan, has emphasised that all initiatives undertaken by Sandooq Al Watan resonate with the wise vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who places utmost importance on the nation’s youth, especially school and university students. Sheikh Nahyan’s statement followed the conclusion of the “Sandooq Al Watan Winter Programme” organised by the fund over two weeks in Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Ajman.
The programme witnessed significant participation from Emirati students from both government and private schools, in collaboration with GEMS schools, creative centres under the Ministry of Culture, and numerous local, federal, and private institutions. The Winter Programme’s activities were geared towards enhancing national identity among the new generations, introducing students to Emirati national symbols through various initiatives, focusing on identifying talents, and encouraging innovation and creativity among students. Additionally, the programme prepares UAE’s future generations to deal with the emerging global environmental challenges through “Fikrati” initiative. Sheikh Nahyan reiterated the programme’s aim to strengthen the national identity among the youth as a lofty goal for all.
Yasser Al Gergawi, Director-General of Sandooq Al Watan, said that every activity within the Winter Programme was designed to instil national identity values and elements among all participants in various forms, including language, values, and heritage, leveraging all available resources to achieve this objective. Sandooq Al Watan reiterated its commitment to establishing effective partnerships with all institutions across various sectors to benefit Emirati youth.
