The eagerly-awaited second edition of the Global Media Congress will begin tomorrow in Abu Dhabi at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec). Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the Congress is already renowned as one of the premier global forums for media industry leaders, decision-makers, experts, and specialists.
Organised by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and Capital Events of the Adnec Group and taking place from November 14-16, the theme of this year’s event is “Shaping the future of the media industry”.
The Congress conference and exhibition will cover thought leadership, business trends and brand reinvention while also exploring new breakthroughs in media technology, equipment, and social media platforms. Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of the WAM and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee for the Global Media Congress, stated, “At this year’s Global Media Congress we are strengthening and deepening our international networks to decisively shape the international media agenda in the years ahead. By providing a world class platform that is nurturing collaboration and new partnerships driving innovation while also opening up scope for new business opportunities, we are proud to welcome the media sector’s global leaders and next generation of innovators, and we are also grateful for their faith in our Congress as an essential forum for exchange of insights and expertise.”

“Through our dedication to nurturing media sector innovation and new business collaborations at the local and global levels, we are consolidating Abu Dhabi’s status as the region’s leading conference and exhibitions hub.”
Reflecting the critical priorities of COP28, the Global Congress’s opening day will focus on the critical part played by environmental media in driving sustainability and climate change mitigation efforts. Media education will be prioritized on day two with the Congress’s dedication to youth engagement shown by its hosting of students from 100 universities dedicated to playing their part in the media’s future.
A range of engaging and immersive features presented at the event will include an Educate Stage, an Innovative Stage NexTech, a Co-production Majlis, and a Create Stage along with Media Roundtables, Workshops and a return of the highly successful Media Future Labs featured last year.
Drawing on participants from across the government, media, academic and industry sectors, the conference will feature speakers, panellists and discussants analysing the full range of evolving media trends and the many opportunities offered by the sector’s business and market development. Featuring both leading companies and innovative new startups, the exhibition will offer a vast range of exciting new products and services from international, regional and local brands.
