Abdullah bin Zayed, FM of Cyprus review humanitarian conditions in ME region

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed with Dr Constantinos Kombos, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus, the latest developments in the Middle East region, and the humanitarian implications of the current crisis on civilians.
This came in a phone call, during which the two top diplomats engaged in discussions on strengthening regional and international de-escalation initiatives and safeguarding the well-being of all civilians. They also delved into the ongoing endeavours to amplify the humanitarian response to the pressing needs of civilians.
In this regard, the Cypriot foreign minister briefed H.H. Sheikh Abdullah on his country’s initiative to establish a maritime corridor that would ensure a continuous flow of humanitarian aid to the civilian population. Sheikh Abdullah valued this humanitarian initiative from the friendly Republic of Cyprus.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasised on the importance of enhancing all humanitarian initiatives to meet the needs of the people of Gaza and alleviate their suffering. He also pointed to the importance of working to end extremism, tension, and escalating violence in the region and meet the aspirations of its peoples for sustainable stability and security.
