Hamdan reviews ‘Dubai Pulse’

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, reviewed the Dubai Pulse report, a detailed study on the performance of Dubai Plan 2021 since its launch.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Hamdan said, “Today, we reviewed the Dubai Pulse report which outlines the achievements and obstacles of Dubai Plan 2021 after one year of its implementation. The results showed society’s great confidence in the government. We will keep following in the footsteps of our founding fathers in the development of government work.
Sheikh Hamdan noted that this important report rests on clear objectives with an aim to boost the performance of Dubai government in all areas and overcome any obstacles mentioned in the report.
He added that the fourth generation of the Government Excellence System ordered by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, represents a great opportunity for all government bodies to achieve consistency between institutional work and the strategic goals of the Dubai Plan 2021.
Sheikh Hamdan’s remarks came during a meeting of the Dubai Executive Council. HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of the Council’s Economic Development Committee, and Abdullah Al Shaibani Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, attended the meeting.
Assistant Secretary-General for Strategy Management and Governance Sector, Aisha Abdullah Miran, presented a comprehensive report about the performance of Dubai Plan 2021 since its launch in December 2014.
The report, which was drafted according to Dubai Plan 2021, featured a detailed explanation on the performance of Dubai plan based on true data prepared according to key performance indices and objectives of the Dubai Plan 2021. According to the results of the report, Dubai is moving steadily towards achieving the sustainable happiness of the entire society.
It revealed that Dubai residents believe that Dubai government provides a promising and encouraging environment where nine out of ten people believe that Dubai is the best place in which to establish a family. It also states that the vast majority of Dubai residents believe in the culture of mutual respect and tolerance.
Among the categories discussed in the report was the effectiveness of the educational system and family priorities. The report said that upgrading educational performances and outcomes and fighting non-communicable diseases are a top priority for the Dubai government.
The report also discussed Dubai’s efforts to provide a healthy life for its
residents and revealed that Dubai government spares no efforts in providing its people with a healthy life, as an individual’s health status identifies their
available options.
Also discussed in the report was economic participation in Dubai. The report highlighted that Dubai witnesses a low unemployment rate and that is indicative of the resilience of its economy. The report added that Dubai can take advantage of the economic boom to engage more Emiratis in strategic sectors by developing public policies that contribute to increasing participation in the labour market and addressing the root causes of some social and cultural practices that stand as a
barrier in the path of Emiratis wishing to
participate more in the economy.
Family cohesion and social solidarity was also referred to in the report. The report underlined that the strategic programmes set in Dubai Plan 2021 aim to heighten awareness of the importance of marital relations and family bonds among those wishing to marry in a bid to curb the rising divorce rates among Emiratis.
The report also touched on the unprecedented economic growth in Dubai and ascribed that to ambitious economic policies.
