The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) organized a forum to discuss charitable initiatives to mark World Social day 2016.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority said: “In line with the vision of the UAE leadership, to excel in the field of humanitarian work, DHA is keen to undertake humanitarian and charitable initiatives to reach out to those in need and alleviate their sufferings.â€
Al Qatami said that the Authority is inspired by the humanitarian and charitable initiatives undertaken by the UAE across the world and thanked President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan andHis Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Al Qatami added that the newly launched Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy will further provide an impetus in the field of humanitarian work in the UAE.
Several high-level leaders attended the forum including Lt. Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim deputy chairman of police and general security in Dubai, HE Maryam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi and Khalifa bin Drai, the executive director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Service.
Al Qatami said that in 2015, DHA’s assistance committee provided treatment and medication worth AED 67 million dirhams to those with financial difficulties and that the DHA is keen to continue providing medical assistance to those in need.
Al Qatami thanked the DHA’s social workers and he also presented a trophy to Lt. Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim, HE Maryam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi and Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Bashir, Saudi Ambassador to the UAE for their dedication to the field of social work.
He also assured the DHA’s social workers that the Authority will support and encourage them to achieve their very best in the field of humanitarian work.
