During the meeting, the two sides, who chaired together the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS), signed a joint communique on the summit’s strategies and international initiatives.

The two officials also stressed their commitment for continuing organising the summit’s meetings on a regular basis and launching international initiatives to lead the transformation process in the industrial sector with the ultimate objective of partaking in realising the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, of the United Nations.
“GMIS is proud to team-up with UNIDO to benchmark its goals with the SDGs, and through this communique, we agreed upon the general objectives of the summit that aim at boosting the world economic growth and wellbeing of all human communities,” Al Mazrouei said.
LI Yong said that that the comprehensive vision of GMIS focuses on attaining sustainable economic development for the benefit of all our communities. The 2019 edition of the summit should carry on focusing on international issues, and this communique will support its strategic orientation.
