UAE ministry offers family consultation via Instagram

The Ministry of Community Development launched the “Taaluf Live” service during the UAE Innovation Month of February 2020, a social sustainable development channel that provides family consultations for the first time through the ministry’s Instagram account (mocduae), including regular weekly episodes aimed at promoting communication and direct interaction with the members of the community.
The service is the fourth channel, added to the three other family consultation service channels: direct phone contact, email, and interviews with family counsellors at social development centres all over the UAE.
The “Taaluf Live” service conveys the efforts of the Ministry of Community Development to deliver information to everyone smoothly and easily based on its vision, “A coherent Responsible Community Involved in Social Development”.
The first episode of “Taaluf Live” saw Dr. Amal Al-Otaibi in an episode entitled, “Women Different Balanced Roles, employee, mother, wife, sister”, broadcasted through the ministry’s Instagram account and hashtag, #Taaluf_Live, attracting some 4,000 people who interacted through direct enquiries and advice.
Hessa Tahlak, Assistant Under-Secretary of Social Development at the Ministry of Community Development, emphasised that the episodes of “Taaluf Live” will be broadcasted via YouTube, Podcasts and reposted on the ministry’s Instagram account.

She pointed out that during this month, a number of innovative initiatives will be launched across several emirates in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to disseminate a culture of innovation and turn it into a reality that would benefit human beings and the community.
Tahlak said, “The Taaluf Live family consultation services through the ministry’s Instagram account focuses on the values of interaction and dialogue to ensure dissemination of knowledge, training and rehabilitation, and make consultations easier and faster for the family and home, in an effort to overcome societal challenges and promote the stability of families among the community.”
In the coming weeks, the “Taaluf Live” service will highlight various family and social topics to be presented by a number of family counsellors and specialists, including Ismail Al Buraimi, Dr. Amal Al Otaibi and Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Hammadi to discuss “Family Interference in Married Couples’ Lives”, “Nervousness in Married Life”, “Silence in Married Life”, “Raising Children, a Shared Responsibility”, and “Community with Senior Emiratis and Benefitting from their Life Experiences”.
