UAE is continuing to enhance its success, improve quality of life

His Highness Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, has chaired the first meeting of the Department of Behavioral Rewards of the Ministry of Possibilities, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in April this year.
The Department of Behavioral Rewards aims to develop an approach for incentivising positive behaviour through a point-based rewards system that can be used in payments for government services.
HH Lt. Sheikh Saif approved the executive work plans for the department during the next phase, which includes the development of a list of behaviours affecting society, identify incentives to stimulate behaviour, in addition to developing a smart application to reach all segments of society.
Sheikh Saif stressed that the UAE is continuing to enhance its success and improve the quality of life under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the creative initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
“The Department of Behavioral Rewards within the Ministry of Possibilities is a pioneering initiative launched by the UAE Government as part of its leadership vision to enhance the positive behaviour of the community and its institutions and to invest the positive energies existing in the UAE society and form an institutional framework,” he commented.
The department will also develop a list of positive behaviours with a measurement system that will calculate points and rewards. It will also launch initiatives to reinforce positive behaviour in society and develop a framework to enable government entities to contribute to the list in line with government policies.
The department will focus on five main areas; healthy nutrition, healthy life, volunteerism, compliance with laws and legislation, knowledge economy and empowerment.
The meeting was attended by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future; Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention; Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Hessa Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development; Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Wellbeing and Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office of UAE; and Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, as well as a number of senior officials.
In April 2019, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid launched the world’s first virtual Ministry of Possibilities to incubate and develop radical solutions for the government’s most critical challenges. The ministry intends to tackle impossible challenges effectively through new innovative models and working methods aiming to improve people’s quality of life.
The ministry is with no minister, and will be managed by the members of the UAE Cabinet.
The first phase of the ministry’s work will include several national programmes in the form of four departments which are: Department of Anticipatory Services, Department of Behavioral Rewards, Department of UAE Talent, Department of Government Procurement.
