UAE, Georgia review economic, investment and trade relations

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and President Giorgi Margvelashvili of Georgia, on Tuesday held official talks on bilateral ties and global developments.
The two sides discussed relations of cooperation and friendship between the UAE and Georgia, and the means of supporting and developing it to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries and its people.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Margvelashvili reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation between their countries, especially economic, investment and trade relations, as well as opportunities for further developing bilateral ties. The two leaders also exchanged views on international and regional developments and discussed issues of mutual interest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Mohamed said that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is always looking to strengthen its relations with friendly countries further, building bridges of cooperation with them, and establishing partnerships that serve common interests across a number of sectors.
He went on to say that the growth and development of UAE-Georgia relations reflect the desire of the leaders of both countries to push forward and strengthen the bonds of friendship between them.
The President of Georgia, in turn, expressed his delight at visiting the UAE and meeting the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince. He praised the level of growing relations between the two countries and their friendly people. He also expressed his country’s keenness to bolster economic and investment cooperation with the UAE and learn from its development experience.
At the end of the meeting the two sides emphasised the importance of doubling the international community’s efforts to achieve peace and security both in the region and internationally, in addition to consolidating and encouraging tolerance, dialogue and co-existence among peoples.

The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, HH Sheikh Diab bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, were present during the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Executive Council, Jassim Mohammed Buatabh Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Lieutenant General, Isa Saif Bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Dr Jassim Mohammed Mubarak Al Qasimi, UAE Non-Resident Ambassador to Georgia, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, and Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties.
The Georgian delegation included Dimitry Kumsishvili, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development; Giorgi Abashishvili, Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia; David Rakviashvili, Assistant to the President of Georgia on National Security Issues and National Security Council Secretary; Giorgi Sharvashidze, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Roland Beridze, Georgian Non-Resident Ambassador to the UAE, and a number of senior officials accompanying the President.
