Top CEO Conference 2016 draws to a spectacular close

Under the patronage of the Dubai Economic Council, the first edition of the Top CEO Conference drew to a spectacular close at the Westin Mina Seyahi, Dubai, on Tuesday. The first instalment of the event was organised by TRENDS magazine and leading international business school INSEAD.
The conference was an open discussion between thought leaders, executives and officials, who aimed to highlight the region’s strategic move away from oil. The talks covered an informative series of analyses about the GCC region’s move towards privatization and disengagement, positioning the UAE as one of the most diversified economies in the
region.

With a record number of CEOs and VPs from the Arabian Gulf region in attendance, the conference brought global issues into a regional context, helping executives and leaders look at the possible impact of such issues and consider the best ways to take their organizations forward, while taking advantage of the coming transformations.
In adition, the initiative hosted renowned speakers from across teh world, including the UN Patron of the Oceans, Lewis Pugh, a swimmer, ocean advocate, TED Talk speaker and successful businessman, who is famous for his adventurous swimming expeditions at the North Pole and on Mount Everest.
The conference opened with an engaging keynote from Pugh, who drew an analogy between real-life perplexities and leadership
challenges.
