Tickets for the sporting and social event of the year are now on sale. The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens will take place on December 1-3 at The Sevens Stadium. Over 100,000 fans and 4,000 players are expected.
Now in its 47th year, the long-awaited three-day annual rugby festival will see Olympic sporting heroes take to the pitch in Dubai as Sevens will be contested for the very first time in the Olympic Games next month, making this an unmissable tournament and social event.
The well-known Invitation Tournament will see action on all eight rugby pitches with a record-breaking number of teams taking part; over 280 teams are expected, making this the largest Invitation Tournament to date. The success of the first ever netball tournament last year means that 2016 will see it expand to include international players competing across three divisions, Gulf Women, Open Women and Open Youth.
On-pitch entertainment and music artists will make sure everyone is in the party mood, with singing and dancing in the stands as fans cheer on their favourite teams. As soon as action on the pitch ends, the famous Rugby Rock comes alive with a number of bands and artists performing on stage making sure everyone dances the night away.
As always, teenagers and kids will be spoilt for choice with a wide variety of entertainment options available in the village including the Virgin Radio Dubai Teen Zone and dedicated seating for families in the stands making this a fabulous family event with something for everyone.
