Sharjah Public Finance Award established

HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued an Emiri Decree No. 31 for the year 2016 on the establishment of the Sharjah Public Finance Award.
Under Article 2 of this Decree, a periodic award shall be set up in the emirate called the Sharjah Public Finance Award, which will have a corporate body and necessary legal capacity to act within the limits of its objectives in accordance with the provisions of this Decree.
According to Article 3, the permanent headquarters of the award is the city of Sharjah, and branches and offices may be set up inside and outside the emirate.
The award aims to encourage optimum utilisation of financial resources through using the best financial, administrative regulations and government balance sheets to achieve sustainable development, transparency, accountability and good governance in all government agencies.
This resolution is effective from the date of its issuance, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
