‘Set up comprehensive, integrated plans for urban planning of cities’

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces on Monday received a delegation of the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) at his Al Bahr Palace majlis, Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Mohamed stressed the importance of setting up a comprehensive and integrated plans for urban planning of cities which keep pace with the development and prosperity being witnessed by the UAE, and meet the future needs of the coming generations. It should enhance and preserve the cultural and urban heritage of the country, he said.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince said the council has an important responsibility to develop the appropriate concept for all development plans in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through applying the best global practices in this regard taking into account the environmental aspects and ensuring the optimal use of resources.
He also expressed his confidence in the council’s qualified human resources, excellence and innovation, especially their future vision for urban development of cities and various regions.
The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council delegation expressed their happiness to meet Sheikh Mohamed, stressing that they will exert all possible efforts to provide the best ideas and plans that serve the homeland and meet its present and future needs in order to enhance the development march witnessed by the UAE at all sectors.

Mohamed and Eritrean President discuss
ways to enhance bilateral relations

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Monday Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki and discussed ways of enhancing ties of friendship and co-operation to serve mutual interests of the friendly countries and their people.
During the meeting, held at Al Bahr Palace, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and President Afewerki focussed on ways of co-operation in political, economic and developmental spheres within the framework of the Emirati-Eritrean leaderships’ commitment to advance bilateral ties to new heights.
The two leaders also exchanged views on a variety of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, HH Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs (ZHO), Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and a number of Sheikhs and senior officials.
