The Fujairah Authority for Tourism and Antiquities on Tuesday received a Russian delegation, comprising 46 representatives of travel and tourism companies, during a tour of important tourism and antiquities sites and hotels in Fujairah, which aims to promote tourism from Russia.
During the first day of the three-day tour, the delegation visited Fujairah Museum and Citadel, to explore these sites and their histories, as well as their ancient metal artefacts.
The delegation was briefed about Fujairah’s history, its location on the world map, its ancient houses, cemeteries and old weapons, as well as its traditions, such as its Emirati costumes and coffee culture.
The Russian contingent will also visit Al Badiya Mosque, Masafi Citadel, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Ohala Citadel and the Fujairah Heritage Village.
Saeed Al Samahi, Director-General of Fujairah Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, said that hosting the Russian delegation is part of authority’s efforts to introduce leading Russian tourism companies to the emirate’s tourism attractions.

He also highlighted the ongoing cooperation between the authority and the hotel industry, which aims to accommodate tourists through a hospitality programme that includes all hotels in Al Aqah, to attract more significant numbers of future tourists by agreeing to contracts with tourism companies.
