At least 64 people have been killed after a fire swept through a shopping mall in the Siberian city of Kemerovo. More than 100 people were evacuated as the fire tore through the building on Sunday night and people were seen jumping from windows. As dawn broke in Russia’s coal-producing Kemerovo region, heavy black smoke was still billowing.
Rescue services searching for the 16 people still missing, among that number could be children. “Those who have called us said that they cannot contact their children or some adults, who were in this shopping mall on the moment of fire.”
Emergency services say the smoke was coming from the fourth floor which includes a cinema and children’s playing rooms.
