RTA launches fourth Scientific Research Award

The Roads and Transport Authority, (RTA) has started the 4th edition of its Scientific Research Award, “Today’s Research for a Promising Future”, under RTA’s rejuvenated research and development strategy.
The annual award aims to lay the foundation stone for diffusing the culture of scientific research amongst RTA’s employees, and encouraging them to engage in research in various business fields. It also aims to support applied research exploring improvements of RTA’s projects, products and services for the benefit of Dubai in particular, and the UAE in general.
Laila Faridoon, Executive Director of the Office of the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, said, “In its 4th edition, RTA’s Scientific Research Award has reached maturity level in terms of stringent standards and the broad-base
participation.
RTA is keen on supporting the concepts of innovation and knowledge management through improved techniques of scientific research and intellectual motivation of employees to highlight their abilities through workshops and training sessions held jointly with universities. Research submitted is judged by a panel of members from various universities and academic institutions, and professionals specialised in various fields and categories of the award.
