The visit by Pope Francis, head of the Catholic Church, to the UAE, beginning tomorrow, will help achieve humanitarian and cultural goals and highlight the UAE’s role as a bridge for cultural interaction, said Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC).
In a statement made on Saturday to mark the historic visit, Dr Al Qubaisi said the Pope’s visit will constitute a key milestone in the interfaith dialogue and reflect the UAE’s wise approach
of tolerance, peaceful co-existence, openness and acceptance of others.
“The visit of His Holiness Pope Francis is a culmination of the noble values, established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and diligently followed by our wise leadership to give the world a unique model for tolerance and openness,” she added.
