Upon the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and President of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has concluded its preparations to launch its Ramadan Iftar Project for the current Hijri year 1439, coinciding with 2018, which aims to distribute 951,000 meals, or around 31,700 meals on a daily basis, during the holy month in 105 locations.
The project, which will start on Thursday, the first day of Ramadan, will be launched with the foundation’s strategic partners and sponsors from around the country, after identifying its distribution centres that include industrial zones where workers are located, mosques and areas around public markets.
This seasonal project is among the foundation’s key local projects and confirms its mission to support vulnerable people, through providing quality Ramadan meals without discrimination.
An official source from the foundation stated that its Ramadan project reflects its humanitarian values that promote giving. The foundation has launched many projects over the past 10 years and distributed over 24.5 million Ramadan meals, which have benefited more than 4,000 families around the country, the source added.
The source further added that the foundation has contracted 317 Emirati families to prepare the meals and will provide logistical services and communication channels between the families and the project’s supervisors and coordinators.
The distribution points for the Ramadan will be located in populated areas, especially those with underprivileged people in industrial zones or public markets.
