Indian Institute of Technology Delhi – Abu Dhabi (IITD-AD) announces the second intake for its Master of Technology (M.Tech.) program in Energy Transition and Sustainability and its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Energy and Sustainability. Following the successful launch of its inaugural M.Tech. program in January 2024, and the Ph.D. program in January 2025, IIT Delhi – Abu Dhabi is now accepting applications for the academic year 2025-26, with the semester commencing in August 2025.

M.Tech. Program in Energy Transition and Sustainability: Cultivating Multidisciplinary Leaders for a Greener World
The M.Tech. program in Energy Transition and Sustainability at IIT Delhi – Abu Dhabi offers a unique and comprehensive two-year, in-person experience for recent graduates and working professionals from diverse backgrounds. Recognising the global imperative to decarbonise the fossil fuel sector and revolutionise industrial practices, the program adopts a multidisciplinary and system-level approach, delving into the technological, economic, financial, policy and regulatory realms of the energy transition. Students benefit from a curriculum that provides both a broad understanding and the capacity for in-depth exploration of specific areas of interest, including renewable energy technologies, energy storage, smart grids, sustainable transportation, policy analysis, and the financial aspects of decarbonization. The program offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research and technologies with a clear vision: to train students from diverse backgrounds to contribute effectively to Energy Transition initiatives and to create multidisciplinary and system-level perspectives on technology, economics, policy, and environmental sustainability. The M. Tech. program is also open to industry professionals who may enrol either as full-time students sponsored by their respective organisations, or as part-time students, where they can undertake the coursework and research over a period of 3 years.

The Ph.D. program in Energy and Sustainability at IIT Delhi – Abu Dhabi is designed to cultivate expertise in the energy sector by fostering students with high-calibre research skills, an unwavering work ethic, and the capacity for significant accomplishments.
