The Annual Statistical Book 2017 of Fujairah showed that the emirate’s GDP reached AED15.4 billion in 2017. The value of direct foreign trade amounted to AED6.4 billion, and trade via its free zone amounted to AED8 billion, totalling AED14.4 billion.
The 21st edition of the book, issued by the Fujairah Statistics Centre, highlighted the various developments taking place
in the emirate, in light of the directives of HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and the close monitoring of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad
bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
Fujairah International Airport also handled 9,204 flights while the number of hotel guests in the emirate reached 706,320. The emirate has 31 banks and currency exchange facilities. The number of employees of federal and local government departments reached 15,860.
