Emirates Securities Market up by 0.12 percent

The Emirates Securities Market Index has increased by 0.12% to close at 4503.58 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has gained AED 0.88 billion attaining AED 730.54 billion. A total of 378.09 Million Shares were traded with a total value of AED 0.55 billion during the trading session of 23-03-2016 through 6353 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 66 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 22 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 31 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Union Properties came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 60.87 million distributed over 69.63 million Shares through 638 transactions. Emaar Properties came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 53.66 million distributed over 8.88 Million Shares through 469 transactions.
Fujairah Building Industries shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED 1.44 with 10.77% increase during the trading of 50.55 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 60.8 Thousand. Whereas Sharjah Cement shares Increased by 6.86% to close at AED 1.09 during the trading of 0.51 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 0.56 million.
Oman & Emirates Investment Holding has achieved the lowest decline by -9.42% to close at AED 1.25 during the trading of 10136 Shares with a trade value of AED 12.79 Thousand. Followed by Takaful Emarat which dropped by -6.22% to close at AED 1.81 during the trading of 200 Shares with a trade value of AED 371. Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has an increase by 5.228%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED 53.36 billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 59 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 43 companies.
As of 23-03-2016, the Telecommunication sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 15.6891% to settle at 3707.05compared to 3204.32 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Real estate sector index with an increase of 10.4% to settle at 5345.43 points. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with an increase of 9.36% to settle at 2098.34 points. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with an increase of 8.03% to settle at 3854.52 points. Followed by the Services sector index with an increase of 4.75% to settle at 1455.21 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -1.5% to settle at 957.574 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with a decrease of -1.5% to settle at 2835.96 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with a decrease of -2.8% to settle at 3236.98 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -3.3% to settle at 1230.78 points. Followed by the Energy sector index with a decrease of -3.8% to settle at 68.4846 points.
