The Emirates Securities Market Index has increased by 2.02% to close at 4533.55 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has gained AED 14.58 billion attaining AED 735.4 billion. A total of 0.9 Billion Shares were traded with a total value of AED 1.87 billion during the trading session of 17-03-2016 through 11470 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 65 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 43 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 15 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Emirates Telecommunication Group came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 0.6 billion distributed over 32.45 Million Shares through 780 transactions. Gulf Finance House came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 174.43 million distributed over 214.81 Million Shares through 1474 transactions.
First Gulf Bank shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED 12.80 with 10.82% increase during the trading of 6.52 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 77.88 million. Whereas National Bank of Abu Dhabi shares Increased by 9.28% to close at AED 9.30 during the trading of 1.12 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 10.17 million.
AXA Green Crescent Insurance Company has achieved the lowest decline by -9.89% to close at AED 0.82 during the trading of 400 Shares with a trade value of AED 328. Followed by United Arab Bank which dropped by -9.82% to close at AED 2.57 during the trading of 252.2 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 0.65 million.Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has an increase by 5.928%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED 49.65 billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 60 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 45 companies.
As of 17-03-2016 the Telecommunication sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 14.0078% to settle at 3653.17compared to 3204.32 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Real estate sector index with an increase of 11.5% to settle at 5398.58 points. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with an increase of 10.8% to settle at 2126.61 points. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with an increase of 8.13% to settle at 3858.13 points. Followed by the Services sector index with an increase of 3.15% to settle at 1432.96 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with an increase of 2.02% to settle at 3400.04 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with an increase of 0.20% to settle at 2886.52 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -1.1% to settle at 960.945 points. Followed by the Energy sector index with a decrease of -1.8% to settle at 69.9347 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -3.2% to settle at 1231.74 points.
