The Emirates Securities Market Index has increased by 0.41% to close at 4301.75 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has gained AED 2.88 Billion attaining AED 697.8 Billion. A total of 0.89 Billion Shares were traded with a total value of 0.96 Billion AED during the trading session of 23-02-2016 through 10255 transactions. The number of companies which has been traded is 65 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 33 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 20 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Gulf Finance House came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 115.86 Million distributed over 165.29 Million Shares through 1284 transactions. Amlak Finance Company came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 95.62 Million distributed over 68.67 Million Shares through 1024 transactions.
Al Whathba Insurance shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED 4.35 with 7.41% increase during the trading of 35 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 152.25 Thousand. Whereas Drake & Scull shares Increased by 7.18% to close at AED 0.40 during the trading of 105.82 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 41.25 Million.
Oman Insurance Company has achieved the lowest decline by -9.66% to close at AED 1.59 during the trading of 3000 Shares with a trade value of AED 4770. Followed by Commercial Bank of Dubai which dropped by -5.66% to close at AED 5.00 during the trading of 0.65 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 3.24 Million.
Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has an increase by 0.512%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED 25.73 Billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 38 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 56 companies.
As of today the Telecommunication sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 5.3219% to settle at 3374.85compared to 3204.32 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Real estate sector index with an increase of 2.61% to settle at 4967.26 points. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with an increase of 1.12% to settle at 1940.12 points. Followed by the Energy sector index with a decrease of -1.9% to settle at 69.8530 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with a decrease of -1.9% to settle at 2824.50 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with a decrease of -2.4% to settle at 3252.18 points. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with a decrease of -2.9% to settle at 3461.70 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -3.0% to settle at 942.301 points. Followed by the Services sector index with a decrease of -3.1% to settle at 1345.99 points. Followed by the «Insurance» sector index with a decrease of -3.7% to settle at 1225.54 points.
