The Emirates Securities Market Index has decreased by -0.99% to close at 4576.75 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has lost AED 7.44 billion attaining AED 742.41 billion. A total of 323.55 Million Shares were traded with a total value of AED 430.67 million during the trading session of 01-05-2016 through 4682 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 59 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 11 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 38 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Arabtec Holding Company came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 66.19 million distributed over 40.78 Million Shares through 638 transactions. Gulf Navigation Holding came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 62.41 million distributed over 55.02 Million Shares through 709 transactions.
Al Salam Bank – Sudan shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED 1.67 with 5.03% increase during the trading of 44.5 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 71.64 Thousand. Whereas Sharjah Islamic Bank shares Increased by 4.83% to close at AED 1.52 during the trading of 0.61 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 0.91 million. Abu Dhabi National Building – BILDCO has achieved the lowest decline by -8.00% to close at AED 0.46 during the trading of 165 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 77.9 thousand. Followed by Mashreq Bank which dropped by -7.52% to close at AED 75.00 during the trading of 1500 Shares with a trade value of AED 112.54 thousand.
Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has an increase by 6.938%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED 75.53 billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 65 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 42 companies.
As of 01-05-2016, the Energy sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 19.9023% to settle at 85.3961compared to 71.2214 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Telecommunication sector index with an increase of 18.4% to settle at 3794.59 points. Followed by the Real estate sector index with an increase of 13.0% to settle at 5470.49 points. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with an increase of 11.8% to settle at 3990.90 points. Followed by the Services sector index with an increase of 8.85% to settle at 1512.16 points. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with an increase of 6.63% to settle at 2045.85 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with an increase of 1.06% to settle at 3368.09 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with a decrease of -1.0% to settle at 2849.66 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -3.0% to settle at 942.363 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -3.1% to settle at 1232.46 points.
