HE Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM), said the UAE Flag Day celebrations are a tribute of respect to our Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who unified the Emirates 48 years ago.
The event also reaffirms allegiance and respect to the UAE flag as a symbol of national unity. HE also explained that this occasion symbolises the UAE’s unity, pride and dignity.
The celebration reflects our national identity and sense of belonging, in which we all remember the efforts of the Founding Fathers, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and their brothers.
These great men put in place the foundations of our country and made a lifelong commitment to ensure its prosperity.
This vision was guided by our wise leadership and spearheaded by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, all of whom march together towards the achievement of this great vision.
HE along with a number of officials at the DPM, expressed their pride and happiness in taking part in this celebration, and how the flag raised today honours the Emiratis, who gave their lives to preserve the pride and dignity of our nation.
We pay tribute to the work of our Armed Forces in maintaining our security and the stability of our nation, while ensuring the cohesion and the stability of the Arab region.
