Fashion conscious women seeking style in the 14+ range now have three new outlets dedicated to catering to their fashion requirements in the UAE. City Chic, the leading global plus size brand, is opening a trio of new stores in the country, making its popular range of plus size clothing available to customers in the region for the first time.
Marka’s CEO Nick Peel told Emirates Business, “City Chic offers elegant and stylish fashion apparel for plus-sized women of all shapes and sizes, which is truly representative of this multicultural country we live in and that is something we should all celebrate and embrace. We want to drive home the message that plus-sized women can be beautiful and trendy and our three new store openings in Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai and Sharjah reflect the popularity of this mind-set among our customers.”
Brought to the UAE by Marka Holding, the UAE’s first publicly listed retail operator, City Chic’s three new stores are conveniently located in Al Naeem Mall (Ras Al Khaimah), Festival City (Dubai) and Sahara Centre (Sharjah).
“We are delighted to have partnered with City Chic to offer the latest fashion styles for the region’s discerning plus-size ladies. This exciting brand brings bold sophistication to fuller-figured women across the region and we are proud to elevate the quality of this niche fashion segment across the region,” said Peel.
Phil Ryan, President of City Chic said, “City Chic was established to bring the very best designed fashion garments to plus size women who have previously only had a minimal choice of uninspiring basics. Our philosophy bucks the trend of conservative and staid plus size styles typified by plain t-shirts and leggings in stretchy materials and dark colours.”
“We pride ourselves on our flattering cuts across an array of dresses, tops, outerwear, denim, intimates and swimwear. We aim to push the boundaries in the plus size segment and in the process, ensure that curvier ladies always feel confident, sassy and superbly attired — whatever the time and occasion,” he said.
City Chic has a built a strong and loyal clientele which has taken it to become Australia’s leading fashion retailer in sizes 14+. Since 2006, the company has expanded its portfolio from seven to over 100 stores, with the brand now having a presence in the USA, New Zealand and South Africa as well as the Middle East. Whether providing a black dress for an evening soiree, a new outfit for turning heads in the club or an everyday number that typifies Hollywood glam, City Chic’s intention is to make statured women look and feel great and in doing so, stake its place as the premium purveyor of striking couture options for plus-size fashionistas.
“We’re getting closer to achieving our goal of expanding the brand across the GCC. City Chic is already very popular in the rest of the world, with a current portfolio of more than 100 branches. Demand for leading boutiques such as ours is at a premium right now and our expansion into the Middle East market is an exciting venture that we hope to continue. What better way to herald that projected growth than to bring this sophisticated and cutting-edge brand of classy womenswear to the discerning customers here in the United Arab Emirates,” Peel concluded.
