AED52mn for roads, infra projects in Mussafah

The Executive Committee of the Executive Council, chaired by Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman of the Executive Office, adopted the implementation plan of the future vision of Mussafah, which aims to limit the current and future challenges that faces the region by setting a practical steps to address them and enhance development.
The Committee adopted a number of steps for implementing the vision, namely; the proposed general outline of the area, the action plan, the working groups, and the implementation structure affiliated to the Steering Committee formed for that purpose.
The elements used to create the future vision of Mussafah include strengthening the entrances, improving the aesthetic scenery of the main roads, developing the area opposite the public street, enhancing the transport network, securing future anchor points, as well as developing the 7.5 km long waterfront, changing the use of land overlooking it, developing open, recreational spaces, providing new investment opportunities, establishing a fairs zone, improving the services area, and developing industrial uses.
The working groups shall work according to specific charters, namely; the general outline, employment, transferring the labor force dwelling in non-official labor camps to official labor cities, dealing with bus stops and traffic congestion, addressing environmental pollution, improving the inspection system and addressing irregularities, and coordinating inspections operations.
The Executive Committee’s adoption of the implementation plan of the future vision for Mussafah came in recognition of its importance as an industrial service zone and a growing urban community. This demonstrates the keenness of the Government of Abu Dhabi on developing various areas of the emirate through establishing integrated and sustainable urban communities to increase business activity and support industrialists and real estate investors.
Mussafah is considered as an economic industrial area located in the mainland of Abu Dhabi. It was established in the 1970s, and the number of commercial and industrial licenses therein form 21% and 25% respectively of the total number of licenses in the emirate. It includes 53 basins which have more than 3893 plots. On the other hand, Committee approved an estimated cost of AED52 mn for internal roads and infrastructure project, which serves 68 housing multi- task land plots in basin 39 in Zayed city on 27.7 hectares, including roads, sewage, storm water drainage, drinking water systems, irrigation systems, electricity, communications systems, and establishing a major power plant.
The Executive Committee further adopted a project for installing electrical cables and equipment, and distribution transformers in the city of Al Ain at a cost of AED23m, in order to keep pace with the urban expansion and enhance the services
provided to the consumers.

Furthermore, the Committee adopted the application of particulate radiotherapy for cancer patients in Abu Dhabi through establishing the radiation center for treatment with protein, in cooperation with the private sector.

The Committee reviewed a number of topics and memoranda filed by government entities in Abu Dhabi, associated with the implementation of the plans, projects and services development schemes enrolls on the agenda of the Committee, to which it has taken the appropriate decisions.
