Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), in a bid to enhance civic responsibilities, and instil a spirit of social solidarity and volunteerism within the community, on Wednesday launched its ‘My Community’ programme, as part of the Fund’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandate.
In addition to strengthening the principles and values of volunteerism across the Fund’s departments, the ‘My Community’ programme also aims to bolster partnerships among local public and private sector companies and tasks ADFD’s employees with completing 25 volunteer hours annually.
Speaking at the launch of the programme, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, said: “The ‘My Community’ programme aims to articulate and support the efforts, goals and objectives outlined by the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the Year of Giving.”
He added: “Through endorsing social and humanitarian causes and spreading a culture of volunteerism among our employees, ADFD is pleased to reiterate our service to the nation and reinforce the general well-being of the local community.”
ADFD, over the last 10 years, has pursued an active CSR agenda and as a result, the Fund was ranked among the top five best UAE government organisations in the 2015 edition of the Arab Social Responsibility Awards.
