DUBAI / WAM

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), announced that its 96th Licensing Open Plates Auction held on September 30 raised total revenue of AED24.8 million when 80 eye-catching plates were put under the hammer. Four license plates acquired the lion’s share of revenues in the auction, which saw fierce competition between bidders.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, said, “The AED24.8 million revenue raised from the 96th Open Auction reflects the remarkable popularity of such commercial activity organized by RTA. The license number R 111 yielded the highest return of AED2.65 million, while the license number F 999 generated an income of AED1.06 million. The license number M 7777 was sold for AED800,00, and license number N 1000 went for AED800,000. The balance is covered by other distinctive number plates.”
“The number plate auctions organized by the RTA are characterised by transparency and enthusiasm. They measure up to the aspirations of customers who seek exclusivity in this regard. Such auctions suffice the needs and aspirations of number plate enthusiasts, and reflect RTA’s keenness to realise its third strategic goal of “People Happiness,” added Bahrozyan.
