AED74 million infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi okayed

The Infrastructure and Environment Committee of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi approved several infrastructure projects. These projects come to meet the growth and sustainability needs of the region and were adopted as part of the Abu Dhabi plan at a total cost of AED74 million.
The Committee approved the awarding of the operation and the maintenance of natural beautification items and local irrigation networks in a number of areas in the emirate including Yas Island, along with works on Abu Dhabi – Al Ain and Abu Dhabi – Swaihan roads. The overall objectives of these projects aim to give the emirate’s highways an aesthetic character, maintain the general appearance of Abu Dhabi cities
and its internal and external roads,
and enhance the efficiency of water
consumption.
The Committee also approved the awarding of the bicycle track project in Al Ain city, located in Al Bateen area between Al Dahmaa Roundabout, Airport Roundabout and Al Salamat Roundabout with a length of 23 km and a width of 4 meters, including a fence to protect cyclists.
This project comes in line with Abu Dhabi plan to support sport and promote a healthy lifestyle through the
provision of an integrated infrastructure for sports practitioners, that contributes to enhancing awareness on the posit-
ive impacts of an active lifestyle for
individuals.
