His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation met with Foreign Minister of Argentina, Susana Mabel Malcorra.
Sheikh Abdullah was accorded an official reception upon his arrival at the venue. The national anthems of the UAE and Argentine were played, followed by an inspection of the Guard of Honour by Shaikh Abdullah. He laid a wreath at the memorial.
The two ministers discussed mutual cooperation between the UAE and Argentina and ways to enhance them in various domains. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and global issues of mutual interests. Sheikh Abdullah stressed the strong UAE-Argentina relations and keenness on boosting them.
Malcorra welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit, stressing keenness of Argentina to develop its ties with the UAE. Sheikh Abdullah also chaired the first meeting of the UAE-Argentina joint ministerial committee.
Sheikh Abdullah and Malcorra signed three Memoranda of Understanding, MoUs. One related to giving exemption of diplomatic and special official passport holders from pre-entry visa. The second regarding exemption of pre-entry visa for ordinary passports holders, and last MoU was granting permission to families of diplomats and consuls to work in both countries.
In his speech before the committee, Sheikh Abdullah extended thanks and appreciation to Susana Malcorra and members of the delegation. He also hailed Argentina’s hosting of the first joint ministerial committee meeting of the two countries.
He noted that the relations between the UAE and Argentine are distinguished, stable and enjoy mutual respect, and joint desire to develop them to achieve the aspirations of the higher leadership of the two countries.
He said that the meeting presents an opportunity to enhance bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. “This is an effective platform to present proposals and practical solutions to enhance cooperation, explore opportunities and overcome challenges,” he added.
The cooperation horizons between the UAE and Argentina are not confined on political approach or economic partnerships, he said, adding that the UAE sees that there is a precious opportunity for technical cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two sides.
Later, Sheikh Abdullah held a joint press conference with Argentine’s Foreign Minister, during which he extended thanks to Malcorra for the constructive discussions. He also extended thanks for the Argentine people for warm welcome during his visit. He expressed his full confidence that the two countries will continue cooperation in the future.

Vice President of Argentina, Gabriela Michetti received HH Sheikh Abdullah.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to Michetti. They wished her good health and more progress and welfare to people of Argentine.
Argentina’s Vice President reciprocated her greetings to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, wishing them robust health and further development and welfare to the UAE.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Gabriela Michetti discussed joint bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in various fields, especially in the economic, trade, tourist and investment fields.
