Abdullah, UN chief review Mideast developments

HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, at the UN headquarters in New York.
During their meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation and ways to strengthen and consolidate bilateral relations between the UAE and the United Nations in all fields, including humanitarian and aid relief. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Guterres also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, reviewed current developments in the Middle East, and a number of regional and international issues, especially conditions in Yemen, Syria, Libya, and Iraq.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed the UAE’s keenness to strengthen its cooperation and partnership with the UN, as well as all international organisations that work to benefit people.
The UN Secretary-General expressed his and the UN’s appreciation for the UAE’s efforts and the important role it plays in supporting the organisation and the international community, praising the country’s leading stance at the regional and international levels. The meeting was attended by Lana Nusseibeh, UAE Permanent Representative to the UN.
