His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA) led by Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak and Saif Saeed Ghobash, Chairman and Director-General of the TCA, respectively.
During the meeting also attended by HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince was briefed about the key activities and initiatives undertaken by the TCA, including its participation abroad to showcase cultural and tourism features of the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed the significant role played by cultural and tourism bodies to highlight the cultural heritage of the country.
“The tourism sector is an important engine of the economy and, therefore, we have to take advantage of the features of this vital sector so as to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE and Abu Dhabi as tourist destinations,” he added.
He also called for harnessing rich opportunities in the tourism, cultural and historical heritage sectors in light of an advanced infrastructure and technology in order to improve tourism and strengthen the role of Emirati cadres to achieve economic, social and cultural developments.
The TCA delegates expressed their satisfaction at meeting His Highness Sheikh Mohamed to acquaint with his vision and guidance in the development and modernisation of the tourism and culture sector. They pledged to put in more efforts to preserve this sector in line with the strategic objectives of the country.
