UAE takes part in GCC–Slovenian conference in Slovenia

Dr. Rashid bin Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of State, spoke about the depth of UAE – Slovenian relations, which are now witnessing significant development in all fields, pointing to the strength of the ties between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Slovenia.
Dr bin Fahd made his comments during the First International GCC – Slovenian conference held in Ljubljana under the theme “Gulf Day”, as part of an initiative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He stressed that both parties are eager to develop bilateral relations.
The conference also sponsored discussions about potential cooperation opportu- nities, and issues of mutual interest in the fields of renewable energy and sustainable development. There were three sessions during the conference, entitled Visions of Development Based on World Facts, Renewable Energy for a Sustainable
Future, and International Development Models.
GCC countries participating in the conference presented ideas about developing relations between the two parties in various fields. Particularly economic and trade relations, investment opportunities and economic cooperation were discussed.
The UAE minister also met with Dragoljuba Bencina, Slovenian State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and members from the UAE- Slovenian Parliamentary Friendship Group, on the sidelines of the conference, where they discussed joint cooperation between the UAE and Slovenia, in addition to several issues of mutual interest, particularly in the fields of information technology, and the development of economic and trade ties. The UAE is keen to promote and develop ties with Slovenia, within the framework of its extending its network of economic, trade and investment
relations in Europe.
Both parties also discussed preparations for hosting the large “Dubai 2020 Expo”, in which Slovenia will be participating, as per its MoU with the
Ministry of Economy.
